One thing I’ve leaned over the years is that in order to build confidence and self-esteem, you must first learn how to handle the fear of failure , of rejection, of BEING WRONG. So what ,you make a little mistake. At the time, it may feel like the end of the world but lemme tell you, life goes on and you’ll eventually realize well in Kelly Clarkson’s words “What doesn’t kill you makes you STONGER” . It allows you to look at the situation differently, to try again. Life isn’t a standardized test, there’s no score or ranking or “above average/below average” . While pressure from family, friends, SOCIETY make it feel that way , you set your own bar, you set your own rules. Your life is like a play. Just one little thing, you gotta write the script. Oh and direct. If you’ve ever seen a show on Broadway or even a small play held in your local neighborhood art center, sometimes actors mess up,things can go arwy. The best actor knows he gotta suck it up and move on. It’s like typing up the script on an old fashioned typewriter(no backspace or eraser), all you can do is add. Well, be creative and add on more opportunities, to prove yourself that is. You’re bound to get it right eventually. It’s like the old and cliche saying “3 wrongs/lefts makes a right” . Those wrongs or accidental left turns are not a waste of time b/c now you’ve learned something new. Walking around the block in nyc , you come to a corner. You’re headed to meet up with an old friend at a local cafe. Not so great with directions, you head left ( the cafe was one right away). So you may be a few minutes late. It’s a beautiful day. It’s your life. Live it. Your Own Way.
